My First Casting

I had my first ever casting yesterday - Thursday 30th - for a TV programme.

Mum & I went to London and walked around Oxford and Regent Street, I got to go into Hamley's, a really big toy shop, and I had a cuddle with a huge teddy bear!

We had a tea and a sausage roll in a Café down Carnaby Street and then we made our way to the casting place.

It was through a big black door, up to the 2nd floor and into a room with three guys. They were very nice and friendly and I used the Kindle to "make" one of the guys a new hairstyle, which he thought was funny.

Then I went into the room with the camera man and another guy (casting director?) and he asked me some questions about my age and height then I had to stand in a corner and when he said "action" I had to walk to the cross and then I said the lines I had learnt that day while he filmed me.

It was all over in about 10 minutes, the man said to mum I'd done very well. I didn't think it was difficult and really enjoyed the day.

Thanks to Mad Fish! for sorting this out for me :-)

Jo Hawes Workshop

We drove into London to get to Barnes Green in SW13, it didn't take long and dad only made a few wrong turns!

We arrived in time and met Jo Hawes and some other children we went into a room and got taught some basic rules on how to audition.

I did my monologue and Jo said to speak a bit louder which I did.

We got into groups of 4 and got a script each we then had 10mins to read through. I was a character called Pippa. I read looking forward and script down which was an excellent hint.

I had a lovely time and at the end mum bought Jo's book for me and Jo signed it for me.

Just a little bit Naughty!

Mum and I went to London yesterday and saw Matilda - it was brilliant!! All the kids were amazing! I wish I could be in it, it looks like lots and lots of fun.  But mum says I'm probably too tall :-(

We had lunch at Bella Italia I had lasagne it was lovely and the strawberry cone was delicious.

I'm going to ask mum for the Matilda album. We saw the theatre where Charlie is going to be, mum would really like to see that one!

Off The Aisle - Post Production

Mum got a really nice email from  Jenny Williams of the Off The Aisle Film.

They are waiting for a review and then I should be able to see a copy of the film. Jenny has said she will even try to send us some pictures of the filming with me in it. I'm in it a bit at the end - in the montage.

I can't wait to see me, I bet it will be funny - especially the dancing.

Rehearsals for Top Hat Stage School

We are all working really hard now at Stage School for our performances.

Tomorrow we have double rehearsals. The first session will be at the Welwyn groups school where we will all get to rehearse together - I think that will be really good, it will be great to meet more new people!

Then its back to JHN for the Stevenage group rehearsal.

We are performing Gloomsbury Manor in our drama section on Saturday 29th June and Legends of  Pop at the GCT in July.

The good news is, I've now got my own line in the LoP performance!!

Self-taped for Darkmoor

My CV and head shots were sent to author of the Darkmoor books, Victoria Barry & Eiran Lenton who replied with a script to read for role of Catherine Rose.

I am really pleased to be given the opportunity to experience self-taping as its my first time.

It was really easy as I only had three scenes to consider but I had a go and it's been put on YouTube for them to access. http://youtu.be/LJqG4jQEusM

I've downloaded the book now onto the kindle and can't wait to get reading!
