Catching A Fishy....

On Sunday 24th Nov we drove down to Bexhill on Sea to go to MadFish Headquarters!

We didn't have to be there til 12 and then  it up with Tillie and some other guys and we met an actor called Bill.

He had been in movies and on tv shows. We did some little exercises together. Soon it was over and i waited for mum. Then I went into a photo room with the photographer Ross. I enjoyed having my pics done and asked him about things like why he uses white circles. I enjoy modelling.

We drove home and I fell asleep in the car. Didn't feel very well and had rash all over my face - not too bad for pics thank goodness.

Ross said that Musical Theatre CDs prefer colour pics and tv acting and films like black and white.

I'm Off To See The Wizard....

Couldn't believe how quick the casting came through - 20th November.

Pleased to be part of Rare again :-) 12 weeks and a professional show in the theatre. Huzzah!

I do wish I could be a bigger part, Dorothy would be good!! But I know I'm way too young for that. I'm in the ensemble including Munchkin Land.

This show isn't until July, I won't even start rehearsals til April. Summer Show 😄

I was a Stylist Dahling....

Performed in Robin Hood at the SandpitTheatre in St Albans for the end of year show with Top Hat Stage School tonight.

I really enjoyed it but there were some big chunks cut out and it meant some people lost out on their lines.  The boy who played courgette was very funny. There were some great songs in the show, My fav was the end song What does the Fox Say!!

At the end I cried as I will miss those guys as I am not continuing with Top Hat next year. But I hope I'll see some of them again in other shows :-)

I'm so grateful that Warren Bacci and the teachers at Top Hat stage school had confidence in me and gave me the scholarship for a year. Their workshop last November was the springboard to all the amazing shows, performances and films I've been involved in this year.

I'm ready and so, so eager to move up a pace and I'm sure 2014 will be filled with some great things.

Another Rare Audition

On Wednesday 13th November Rare held open auditions for a spot in Wizard of Oz.

It was really busy when I got there and was number 38, by time I come out they were on 100 and still have Sunday auditions to go.

It was wonderful to meet up with everyone from Oliver, like a reunion :-) we all feel like family.

I do hope that I sung Over the Rainbow well enough! Will find out in a couple of weeks.

Oliver!

Tonight was our first performance of Oliver with Rare Productions.

We've been practising for 10 weeks and curtain raised tonight.

The Gordon Craig theatre in Stevenage was sold out and everyone really enjoyed the show.

I was in the opener of Food, Glorious Food and really enjoyed the stage, my folks say: " I have no problem finding a clear, central space and making it mine! I love getting into the show and really acting the part with added nuances of each character played"

I also liked being in Oompapa with Nancy singing.

I just love musical theatre, I had a great time with my friends in rehearsal and on stage and tomorrow, I get to do it all again!

Mum & dad got me some flowers, I like getting flowers when I come out of Stage Door :-)

BBC Casting & Midsummers Night Dream

On Saturday Mum & I jumped on a train to London as I received a call back from the casting in the week.

It was the first time I've ever been held up  on a train and mum got really worried we would be late. The train took over an hour when normally it only takes 25mins.

We got our at Finsbury Park and run to the underground. Went on Picadilly line all the way to Hammersmithq then ran for another train to goldhawke Road which is where the casting was.

There were a few people waiting and after a moment I went in. I enjoyed pretending to be Sam and really hoped I would get the part so I could hold a chameleon!!

Next we went to the Noël Coward Theatre to see a Midsummers Night Dream with David Walliams. It was hard to understand the language but I do know the story which was very funny.

I even got to meet David at the end!!

Emil Dale School of Performing Arts - EDSA

During the week mum got an email to say I was suitable for EDSA and I was welcome to join them on Sunday 13th. Which I did.

I'm really happy at the school where they are teaching me singing, dancing & acting. Our dance teacher says he wants perfection and I'm pleased because he has very high expectations of us and we should be reaching for perfection!

Thanks Emil & team, can't wait to see you on Sunday!

EDSA

Sunday 10 - 13:30

Today I spent time at EDSA, which is a performing arts school. I got to go in Green group with kids my own age and we went to a singing lesson. It was so brilliant, the teacher could really sing and he sang a song from Les Miserable. He then told us how to sing the song. When he asked if anyone would like to sing solo, I put my hand up and sung "I dreamed a dream".

I then had dancing, singing and acting classes. It was a bit different from what I am used to but I really, really enjoyed it.

We have to wait and see whether they think I would be suitable for learning at their school. They will let us know by Friday, so we can wait and see.

Trips to London - EXCITING!

It has been a very, very exciting week with one trip to London last week (Down Town), and maybe up to 3 visits this week.

I'm definitely going on Saturday as mum is taking me to see Midsummer's Night Dream with David Walliams as Bottom the donkey! It will be so good to see a play. I'm very excited :-)

Top Hat - Robin Hood

I'm now back to Top Hat Stage School and we are rehearsing for our Christmas show, Robin Hood.

I have been given the role of the "Stylist of Guy", with at least 7 lines - so not bad considering.

I've grown out of another pair of Jazz shoes!

Dream Child, The Snare.

Writer & Director - CA Cooper
Bohemian Pictures
The Snare

Saturday 21Sep

Drove to St Albans & met Tom who walked us to a clearing in a wood where everyone else was. There were three boys and another girl and their dads. I have since learned that the boy behind me is Fin Banks!

We were children in a dream & we had to wear pajamas. Lily-Mae Hebbes & I had the same ones!

I liked playing the scene where we all laid down dead. Dad was with me this time and he got to sit and read his book.

It was good fun and mum picked us up and took us to Harvester after.

Sunday 22 Sept

Got up early and mum drove to Corby. It took a hour.  We met the crew and Lily and her family and walked to a wood where there was a "swamp", we were only here a little while before we headed off to Leicestershire in a lovely wood called Wakerley and Rowntree Wood. This is where we did our fun acting and got to pull on a rope that Anna held onto, we had good fun.

I met actress Eaoife Forward who was really pretty and who tweeted me with "Tia an absolute star in making...!!"

I don't think I will be allowed to see the film when it is finished as it is a horror and will be an 18. But we just had fun in the woods on a really lovely sunny day :-)

Oliver! - rehearsal

Friday 6th at Knebworth - rehearsals begin for Oliver - hurray! It's so great to be back, there's a few that I know from before including Waterbottle.  Happy.

I'm in Green and shows on Friday and Saturday matinee.

Sound of Music - Regents Park

Mum & I went to the Open Air Theatre in Regents Park on 31stAugust and it wasa lovely day the sub was shining and hot and we walked in the park and then went into the theatre.

It's all outside and we sat on seats in row R and could hear and see everything so clearly.

We really enjoyed the show, the songs made you want to sing with them. The kids were amazing! They work so hard and probably haven't had a holiday all through the summer! But how amazing.

Brilliant performance by the whole cast.

Horrible Histories - Barmy Britains

At the Garrick Theatre, seats M12&13.

What fun! A flash run through of Britain's barmiest people from history including Henry VIII, Guy Fawkes and General Haig. Jokes, songs and plenty of joining in fun was had!

I was really lucky to join in with a workshop after. To begin with we had to pretend we were splashing magic paint around with our hands and body, then we had auditions for a part in the courtroom and I was first to be picked as the judge. I had to be loud and clear! We pretended that we were in a courtroom in Henry 8ths time.  The ladies running the workshop told mum I had done really well!!

Had a brilliant day, thanks Mum x

The Barricade Workshop

Today I came into London for a Les Mis workshop thanks to KidsWeek.

There were 26 kids of all ages that met in The Prince of Wales theatre and when our mums left we all went into the bar area and got into groups and had some small activities the funniest bit was acting like a chicken in a microwave!

We performed as if we were fighting for our rights on the barricade and I was chosen as number 1 - so performed first. They gave me direction to look fierce and proud.

I had a really  great time and big thanks to all the people that helped. Here's me with Tom Nicholas

Legends of Pop - Top Hat School Summer Performance

Top Hat Summer Show

On Sunday 14th July I had the most amazing time.

At 12 noon, Mum dropped me off at the Gordon Craig Theatre to meet up with the Stevenage and Welwyn Top Hat groups for our Summer performance.

We went through rehearsal's and it was buzzing. I had so much food in my bag and lots to drink - some frozen - because it was really hot!!

I performed in:

Lady Gaga - Born This Way - with solo performance,
Michael Jackson's - Black or White,
Blondie - The Tide is High,
Viva Forever by the Spice Girls
and my absolute fav - Starships - Nikki Minaj

Mum & Dad said the show - over 2 hours long - was amazing and they were really impressed with the choreography. They couldn't believe I remembered all the moves and looked really good on stage!

Had a blast!!

We are on holiday now from Stage School - but I cant wait to get back in September.

Kitsch Kids Modelling Agency

Kitsch Kids - Modelling Agency

On Monday 8th July, Mum and I drove to Epping -about 30 minutes away and met with Sam from Kitsch and photographer Gary.

I had a brilliant time posing and modelling for Gary. I went in many different places including a stable and in a garden and just listened to what Gary said - mum even helped by  holding the silver lighting thing!

I really enjoy having my picture taken and mum got a CD with all the pics. I hope I get asked to model some nice dresses soon.

Also, we went into a garden centre that had animals and I saw some quails and some skinny pigs that were guinea pigs with no hair!!

Oliver Audition

Rare Productions were holding open auditions on Wednesday 10th & Sunday 14th, Dad took me along on Wednesday. We got  there about 5ish and I was number 35.

I looked for "waterbottle" -  my friend from Les Mis in February. I didn't see her but she saw mum and told her she was in the first group.

We sang Consider Yourself . I enjoyed the audition but not sure I'll get a part in this musical. We will soon know I'm sure.

We Will Rock You - Barnwell School

Mum took me to her work to see their summer show.

We sat right next to a smoke machine which was on the whole time. I didn't mind but mum got a sore chest.

It was a really good performance with some really good singers, Rebecca was Galileo and she can really sing, I was in Les Mis with her.

I liked the show and thought the lights and music was really good. It made me think about which school I'd like to go to. I want one with a brilliant drama and music departments.

At my stage school on Saturday's, we have been working really hard on a play called Gloomsbury Manor and also for our showcase performance of Legends of Pop.

Our play is going to be shown to parents on Saturday 29th June and I'm really pleased now, because my mum has changed her theatre tickets and can come and see our show!

The Legends of Pop performance at the Gordon Craig Theatre is going to be awesome!

Les Miserables Workshop - Jo Loxton

We were up early today to travel to my agency, Mad Fish, in Bexhill-on-Sea.

I had been really excited to be going back, to see all the other fishes and to have fun in a workshop by Sam Hiller on Les Miserables

But! He had broken his toe and so we had a lovely lady called Jo Loxton teach us two of the shows songs, Can You Hear the People Sing and  End of the Day.

I knew the songs already but it was really nice to be singing them with some really awesome people like Emily who has been in Shrek and Sam who has been in Oliver and loads of others including Amy, Olivia, Kitty. The Fishes are really nice people and can sing so well! I was very lucky to be able to perform these songs with these guys.

A huge thank you to mum and dad for driving me there, and to Emma and Sarah for holding the workshop and to Jo for teaching us :-)

Here's a little video of End of The Day... mum loves my (early!) dramatic dive
Dive, dive, dive!  (click the dive)

Extra in short film - Archie

I was an extra in a short film called Archie yesterday.

It is about an autistic boy that is really good at the violin. I was supposed to be an extra with other children and be in a playground scene, but when mum & I went there, they had filmed that scene on Friday, so I was in a different scene, with all the adults.

We had to be the audience at a music show with a real orchestra.

I had a really good time as I played with the boy that is Archie, his name was James. It is good to see how films are made, they seem to take a long time and everyone has to sit around alot.

But we got some really good snacks and I was only there in the morning. I will be excited to see the film when it comes out.

The director/producer is Sue Shearing of Catch Me Films

My First Casting

I had my first ever casting yesterday - Thursday 30th - for a TV programme.

Mum & I went to London and walked around Oxford and Regent Street, I got to go into Hamley's, a really big toy shop, and I had a cuddle with a huge teddy bear!

We had a tea and a sausage roll in a Café down Carnaby Street and then we made our way to the casting place.

It was through a big black door, up to the 2nd floor and into a room with three guys. They were very nice and friendly and I used the Kindle to "make" one of the guys a new hairstyle, which he thought was funny.

Then I went into the room with the camera man and another guy (casting director?) and he asked me some questions about my age and height then I had to stand in a corner and when he said "action" I had to walk to the cross and then I said the lines I had learnt that day while he filmed me.

It was all over in about 10 minutes, the man said to mum I'd done very well. I didn't think it was difficult and really enjoyed the day.

Thanks to Mad Fish! for sorting this out for me :-)

Jo Hawes Workshop

We drove into London to get to Barnes Green in SW13, it didn't take long and dad only made a few wrong turns!

We arrived in time and met Jo Hawes and some other children we went into a room and got taught some basic rules on how to audition.

I did my monologue and Jo said to speak a bit louder which I did.
www.johawes.com

We got into groups of 4 and got a script each we then had 10mins to read through. I was a character called Pippa. I read looking forward and script down which was an excellent hint.

I had a lovely time and at the end mum bought Jo's book for me and Jo signed it for me.

Just a little bit Naughty!

Mum and I went to London yesterday and saw Matilda - it was brilliant!! All the kids were amazing! I wish I could be in it, it looks like lots and lots of fun.  But mum says I'm probably too tall :-(

We had lunch at Bella Italia I had lasagne it was lovely and the strawberry cone was delicious.

I'm going to ask mum for the Matilda album. We saw the theatre where Charlie is going to be, mum would really like to see that one!

Off The Aisle - Post Production

Mum got a really nice email from  Jenny Williams of the Off The Aisle Film.

They are waiting for a review and then I should be able to see a copy of the film. Jenny has said she will even try to send us some pictures of the filming with me in it. I'm in it a bit at the end - in the montage.

I can't wait to see me, I bet it will be funny - especially the dancing.

Rehearsals for Top Hat Stage School

We are all working really hard now at Stage School for our performances.

Tomorrow we have double rehearsals. The first session will be at the Welwyn groups school where we will all get to rehearse together - I think that will be really good, it will be great to meet more new people!

Then its back to JHN for the Stevenage group rehearsal.

We are performing Gloomsbury Manor in our drama section on Saturday 29th June and Legends of  Pop at the GCT in July.

The good news is, I've now got my own line in the LoP performance!!

Self-taped for Darkmoor

My CV and head shots were sent to author of the Darkmoor books, Victoria Barry & Eiran Lenton who replied with a script to read for role of Catherine Rose.

I am really pleased to be given the opportunity to experience self-taping as its my first time.

It was really easy as I only had three scenes to consider but I had a go and it's been put on YouTube for them to access. http://youtu.be/LJqG4jQEusM

I've downloaded the book now onto the kindle and can't wait to get reading!

There were some things my mum had to sort out and then MadFish can put me forward for things!

We now have a letter from my Headteacher saying the school will let me have time off if I'm lucky to get a casting.

I had my Dr appointment today for my medical letter, I should get that on Thursday and BEST OF ALL the photos my mum and dad chose for my headshots are ready!!

They look so good, I really like the black and white ones. I've put some as my new pictures on my blog.

Huge thank you to Mark Bruce - markbrucephotography.com

We got an email to say I've been accepted as a Mad Fish.

I'm SOOOO excited!!

There's some things mum has to do like talk to my teachers and and I'll need to get a check over at the doctors and get my headshot pictures done. That will be fun too.

So, so please.

There is another workshop with Sam Hiller and this one will be based on Les Miserables which is good because I know it all and sing it all the time.

Mum was talking to me about maybe taking singing lessons extra to my Top Hat, I dont mind, I think it will be good.

I've had so much excitement over the last few months, Im looking forward to my holiday and relaxing with my family.

Mad Fish Management

On Sunday we left home at 7.30 to drive to Bexhill, when we arrived it was freezing! Went to the brand new home of new agency, Mad Fish. Sarah & Emma were really friendly and I met Sam Hiller too. I met some nice kids and we had fun. I pretended to interview a girl and it was funny!

I said the poem I'd been practising The Ugly Bugs Ball and enjoyed putting actions to it.

I also sang a bit of Rollerblades by Eliza Doolittle but maybe I should have sang one of the songs from Les Mis.

I hope I did ok.

On our way home we got stuck in a traffic jam FOR HOURS!! But we still popped into Costa for a baby chocolate chino & cake :-)

Mum is pleased as she doesn't like Grease!

I'm probably going to look to see what they do for the next Welwyn show, I'd quite like a funny one like Annie or Bugsey, especially after Les Mis!!

Well done to everyone that did get cast, you are going to have a great time x

My Birthday

Had a brilliant day!!!

It's my Birthday!

I'm 9 today and have been so excited waiting for this day to come!!

I've also been really lucky, a new agency Mad Fish Management are holding a workshop tomorrow with the resident director of Phantom of the Opera and they've squeezed me in.

I only heard on Wednesday that I have to perform a poem so have been learning and practising like mad!

I'm also going to sing Rollerblades by Eliza Doolittle to get some feedback on whether I should look at singing lessons.

Back to today...MY day!!

And it's a No from Top Talent...but a who knows from Rare.

Got the No from Top Talent Agency yesterday. Little bit upset but its all part of this business I guess.

On the bright side I've decided to audition for Rare's next musical...Grease!!

I'm in the waiting room. I'm no 60! So lots of kids trying for this one. :-)
It's nice to see so many friends from Les Mis.

Top Talent Agency Audition

Scrubbed & dressed up for audition to be represented by Top Talent Agency.

This was at the Hatfield Forum. I had my photo taken and then went into the large room with the disco ball!

We had to read a line out loud then we were put into groups and we had to read a script - ours was HP. I chose to be Harry. We then had to walk a "catwalk" in front of the mums n dads then we left for home.

I really enjoyed the afternoon, I met some new people and some that I knew from Rare & Top Hat.

I did my best and we will hear by the end of the week. I have my fingers x!

Final night - Les Miserables

Back to Gordon Craig Theatre for last performance of Les Miserables. Everyone did their absolute best and we received a standing ovation!

An amazing experience, thank you Rare Productions and everyone involved.

Have been reminded about audition for Grease on Wednesday. Not sure if I will try for this production.

Les Miserables - Opening Night - Thursday 21 February 2013

I felt very nervous but excited as I entered the Stage Door. I was one of the first people on stage - in the prisoners line-up due to a change at the last minute.

Here is a group shot of the ensemble (group A). I am first row, second in from right.

The songs that I was part of included; Work Song, At the End of the Day, Master of the House, Drink with Me, Finale.

I loved it when the audience were clapping as it made me feel special. Everyone worked really hard and I can't wait until Saturday when I get to do it all again!

Off The Aisle Film

February 2013 - Off The Aisle Film

Spent a day at The Priory in Wymondley as an extra in a student movie produced by Jenny Williams.

I had a really good day and although there was lots of hanging about, I just enjoyed meeting the people and talking to them.

It was very interesting to see how a movie is made and dad even became an extra too, though he tried to hide from the camera!

At the end, they asked me to feature in a scene where the bride throws her bouquet and I have to catch it. We did it five times and I caught it every time.

We also had a lot of fun when we had to dance on the stage. They put Gangnam Style on and I love that song and know the moves so I really went for it. The bridesmaids and the men behind joined in too. I hope I get to see that bit.

Off The Aisle Film

Top Talent Agency - Audition

January 2013 - Top Talent Agency Audition...A Tall Order!

I have been invited to attend the audition for representation by the Top Talent Agency for Modelling and Acting.

I am really excited about this as I would love to be a model and I'd also like to be on TV or in films. Basically, I would like people to look at me!

I am very tall for my age, which could be a problem for some acting parts. It looks like most children wanted for musical theatre are small. I think most models are tall, so I hope I keep growing!

At 8 years old I am 142cm tall.

http://www.toptalentagency.co.uk/

First Day At School - Stage School That Is

January 12 2013 - Top Hat Stage School

I was ready for my first day at School! I had new tap shoes, jazz shoes and a Top Hat uniform of roaring red t-shirt and black hoodie.

We were asked to arrive at 2pm to meet the Mayor and have photo's taken. I met Warren Bacci & Sue - who were very nice and the Mayor & Mayoress of Stevenage.

We had our photo's taken for the local paper.

Then I went off to my first class - singing.

I spent three hours there. I was taught singing, dancing and acting. We had breaks and there is even a tuck shop for us.

I really, really enjoyed my day and cannot wait to go next week!

Les Mis Movie Mania

January 2013 - Les Miserables The Movie

The Les Mis movie is out now. Mum and I got preview tickets to go and see it before it came out. Isabelle Allen plays young Cosette and is amazing!

Rehearsals with Rare continue. I wasn't able to try out for Cosette as you have to be 11 and I'm only 8, never-mind, I'm really enjoying just being part of it all.

Stage School Scholarship Audition

25 November - Top Hat Stage School Scholarship Audition

I saw an advert to audition for a years scholarship at a stage school that takes place in my town. I applied and was sent an invitation to audition.

I had to go to the Hatfield Forum on Sunday for an hour and half.

There were lots of young people there to audition. We had to play some drama games, learn a song and a dance routine. It was really great fun. I really liked singing the song "the edge, the edge, the edge.." and we danced some funky moves too.

At the end, the mums and dads came in and watched what we had learnt.

Les Miserables - Ensemble

November 2012

Received a letter today from Rare Productions, I got in!

I'm part of  the Red Group Ensemble in the Schools Edition of Les Miserables.

Have no idea what to expect but am really excited and can't wait to begin rehearsals on Friday 30th November at the Knebworth Village Hall.

We will be rehearsing until the week of February 18th when it's "Show Week"!!

Open Audition - Les Miserables

October 2012 - Rare Productions Audition for Les Miserables

I've been on stage and in front of audiences various times now.

Including appearing in "the ring" with the head Clown when a circus came to town, performing as Alice during a Brownie & Scout Expressive Arts Day and stroking a skunk on stage at Butlins!

As I am now 8, I can audition for Rare Productions, a musical theatre group that gives any young person the opportunity to appear on stage in a musical performance.

Rare advertised an Open Audition to appear in their forthcoming Stevenage performance, Les Miserables.

I went along after school and tried out. I really enjoyed myself and it was an interesting experience. I had to sing and act - all behind closed doors from the mums!
